HOW CAN I BE OF SERVICE TO YOU?

LEGAL FOCUS, WHEN MEANING MATTERS
Your official documents are important to you. That is why you want to make sure that the message of your legal text, whether written in English or in Dutch, is always the same. My legal and linguistic knowledge will ensure you an expert translation of your legal documents, including employment contracts, court documents, terms and conditions or scientific publications. You can rely on me.

STARTING POINT
Before the real work starts I will discuss with you what you are trying to achieve with your text and who your target group is. Is the text, for instance, meant for a press release or for a website? Is it about translation, revision or rewriting a message? I will listen to your needs and will match my activities accordingly. If necessary, I will suggest a different strategy. Don’t be shocked if I ask you probing questions concerning your content (translators possess an innate quirk to really fathom a text). Often, it leads to much more than just a good translation. I also think along with you on the source text, which will help focus on the essence of your work.

STRATEGY
Whenever advisable and possible I will use translation memory software to increase speed and help consistency. I operate in a network with other freelance translators in order to offer you the best possible service. Depending on the specific expertise needed for your text I will find a colleague to work with or I will refer you to that colleague. For you, all that matters is an excellent result to a competitive price.

EDITORIAL WORK
Besides translations, I also do editorial work. You can have me check texts for style and word use, but I can also proofread already translated texts or revise entire documents. I like to give advice, since a text becomes more effective when it relates to its reader.

PRICE
The price depends on aspects as kind of assignment, text complexity, size, translation purpose and pressure of time. I am happy to make you an offer so you know where you stand from the outset. As a freelancer I keep my overhead costs low and you will notice that in my quotation.
